Rabbi Ilan Schimmel

Philosophy

Rabbi Ilan Schimmel has been teaching at the Ramaz Upper School for five years.

 

Currently, he is the chair of the department for Jewish Law and Thought and teaches courses in Tanakh for juniors and seniors.

 

Besides developing curriculum in Jewish thought and teaching, he also works in the Israel Guidance Department assisting students with gap-year program’s in Israel.

 

Before teaching at Ramaz, he taught at the Yeshiva of Flatbush for five years.

 

Rabbi Schimmel lives in West Hempstead and is married with four children.
